UPDATES to the Feast of Plenty: Volunteer and Attendee Safety and COVID-19 Changes

Thank you for your interest in being a volunteer and/or attendee of the 2021 Lisa Muegge Feast of Plenty Community Outreach! This yearly event is truly not possible without you—and for those who have served with us before or attended the Feast of Plenty in previous years, you will notice some necessary changes to the event in response to the current COVID-19 pandemic. In an effort to provide the utmost in safety for our volunteers and attendees while still offering this beloved community service, what follows are changes to the Feast of Plenty:

  1. We will only offer meals to attendees or those expressing need via delivery or carryout
  2. We have limited the number of volunteers and increased the volunteer time slots to longer time frames to maintain social distancing
  3. We will not be able to accept home-baked goods as donations
  4. Meal pick-up for delivery will be done through a drive-through process where everyone can stay in their vehicles.

Although this allows for less overall volunteers, with your help we can still meet the unprecedented demands for Thanksgiving meals across Central Indiana while following all established guidelines for safety during the pandemic. Please keep checking the site as we get closer to Thanksgiving Day for updates and potential expansion of volunteer numbers based on need. Your support means everything to us and our community—we anticipate there will be demand for more meals and groceries than ever, and with the help of our dedicated volunteers, sponsors, supporters, and partners we can rise to this challenge and continue to serve our friends and neighbors in these unprecedented times.
